UNITED STATES (VOP TODAY NEWS) — A Palestinian child was seriously wounded by Israeli army gunfire on Friday in the West Bank town of Kfar Qaddoum and Israeli soldiers, according to a Palestinian source.

For eight years, the residents of Kfar Kedumim have been organizing every Friday and Saturday a popular rally demanding the opening of a road closed by the Israeli army in 2013.

“The injured child Abdul Rahman Yasser Shteiwi (10 years) from Kumkum was taken to the hospital with a bullet wound of the explosive type used by the Israeli army,” said Qassem, director of Rafidia Hospital in Nablus, north of the West Bank. Very critical and unstable”.

“The Israeli army fired live ammunition in an insane manner,” said Murad Shteiwi, coordinator of the Popular Resistance to the Wall, during a weekly march in Kafr Qaddum, west of Nablus.

An AFP photographer confirmed that violent clashes took place between the residents of Kafr Qaddoum and the Israeli army, during which the soldiers fired live ammunition.

“There could have been a large number of casualties,” Shteiwi said, accusing dozens of Israeli soldiers of firing live ammunition directly at the rally.

“The weekly march has been going on for eight years, and we have not seen the repression that took place today, they usually fire gas and bullets into the air, but today there has been an unprecedented crackdown.”
