UNITED STATES (VOP TODAY NEWS) — Pyongyang does not consider it possible to resume negotiations with the United States on the problem of denuclearization until Washington changes the approach to relations with the DPRK, reports the Korean Central Telegraph Agency (CTA), citing a representative of the North Korean MFA.

“As long as the United States does not put aside the current method of assessment (the situation – ed.) and does not propose a new method, the dialogue between the DPRK and the US will never begin again, and, therefore, the prospects for solving the nuclear problem will be much darker,” he said.

“In this way, we again clearly indicate that with the help of the plan that the US is now analyzing, they will not move us an inch from the place we occupy, and the more the mistrust and hostile acts against the DPRK increase, the more fiercely our reaction, “he added.

In late February, the second US-DPRK summit was held in Hanoi. It ended prematurely , without signing a final agreement between the parties and without a joint press conference of US President Donald Trump and DPRK leader Kim Jong-un.

The reason for the disagreements at the meeting were sanctions against the DPRK. After the summit, Trump said that North Korea demanded a complete lifting of sanctions, while the DPRK Foreign Ministry, after the talks, claimed that Pyongyang only asked for a partial abolition of restrictive measures.

Earlier, US judicial authorities announced that they had detained the North Korean vessel for the first time for violating sanctions against the DPRK. It is assumed that the ship Wise Honest illegally transported coal and equipment. The detention was carried out in April 2019, and not by the United States. Currently, the ship is under American control.
