The security forces of Afghanistan have killed nine militants of the radical movement Taliban and more than 18 were injured during an operation in the province of Helmand in the south of the country.

This was reported on Sunday by the TOLOnews TV channel referring to the statement of the national security service.

According to the news TV channel, during the operation three Taliban field commanders, as well as weapons and explosives, were captured.

Recently, there has been a significant strengthening of extremist positions in the eastern and southern Afghan provinces of Logar, Nangarhar and Helmand, as well as in the north of the republic (in Kunduz, Jauzjan and Parvan).

At the same time, field commanders and rank-and-file members of radical groups increasingly swear allegiance to the terrorist organization Islamic State.
