UNITED STATES (VOP TODAY NEWS) — Israel, despite the proximity of the elections, is ready to take any measures, including a large-scale military operation, to restore a lull on its borders with the Gaza Strip, warned Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
He made it clear that the Hamas movement there ruling there is responsible for all aggressive actions from the enclave territory, although he knows that behind the latest launches of rockets and balloons with explosive devices are small groups not controlled by the authorities of the Gaza Strip.
“In recent days, we have seen provocations lifting the head from the Gaza Strip. This is being done by uncontrolled groups, but does not relieve Hamas … of responsibility for everything that comes from the Gaza Strip,” said Netanyahu at a government meeting on Sunday.
Last night, the Israeli Air Force again attacked the base of one of the Hamas militias in the northern part of the Gaza Strip, and two ships that were used by Islamist militants.
The army press service called the bombing response to the rocket, which was released the night before in the south of Israel, and bundles of balls with explosive or incendiary devices, which after several months of interruption flew again across the border.
“I heard that in Gaza they say that because of the election campaign (in Israel), a large-scale operation was removed from the agenda. I suggest Hamas not to count on it. We will do everything necessary to restore security and tranquility around the perimeter of the border Gaza and the south as a whole,” said Netanyahu.
Parliamentary elections in Israel, the results of which will form the government and determine the next prime minister, will be held in less than a month – April 9.
