UNITED STATES (VOP TODAY NEWS) — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told the Egyptian security delegation that his government is committed to the calm of Hamas and the factions in the Gaza Strip, the Israeli i24 news website reported on Saturday.
“The army is waiting for the green light to carry out a military operation in Gaza that will hurt Hamas if it does not abide by the truce,” Netanyahu said.
The Israeli website said that Netanyahu said that the liquidation of what they described as “symbols of terrorism” in Gaza, “did not and will not stop, and will be part of any military operation in Gaza.”
The Prime Minister stressed to the Egyptian delegation that “Hamas, with the recent escalation, demanded that you intervene to contain the situation and continue its escalation in the south. It will prompt me to take a bold decision. I will not accept your mediation, mediation by the United Nations and even Qatar mediation.”
Netanyahu told the Egyptian security intelligence that he would not allow the transfer of funds to Hamas in Gaza, saying that “this decision is final and irreversible.”
