NATO Air Force exercises begin in Finland

UNITED STATES (VOP TODAY NEWS) — The Finnish armed forces announced the launch of the “Bold Quest” exercises with the participation of NATO air forces in northern Finland.

“The aim of the exercises is to ensure that the surveillance, management and correction systems are capable of dealing on land, sea and air,” a Finnish air force statement said.

Two French-made Rafale fighter jets, two German Lirajets, the Cessna light aircraft of Avwatch and the US Air Force Stratocaster are participating in the exercises.

Danish, Dutch and Norwegian aircraft, including F-16 fighters, also take part in the exercises.

The participating countries’ planes are scheduled to fly from 13 to 17 May and from May 20 to 24, near the Risala and Rovaniemi air bases in northern and central Finland, as well as above the Rovai Arvi training ground in the north of the country.
