Hezbollah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah on Friday accused Israel of carrying out a bombing that wounded a member of the Palestinian militant group Hamas in the southern Lebanese city of Sidon and called the bombing an act of aggression.
The Israeli army said it was not commenting on foreign reports.
The bomb blast on Sunday wounded a Hamas member and destroyed his car while he was riding.
“The bombing that targeted one of the Hamas cadres in Saida is a dangerous beginning and can not be tolerated,” Nasrallah said in a televised address. “All indications are that the Israeli enemy is behind the bombing.”
“The state must take responsibility for the renewed Israeli targeting.”
“If Israel were involved, it would not have ended with a minor injury,” Israel Katz, intelligence minister, told Israel Army Radio this week about the Saida attack.
Israel fought a war with Hezbollah in 2006. The month-long conflict, which killed at least 1,200 people in Lebanon, mostly civilians, and 160 Israelis, mostly soldiers, There has been no major confrontation since then.
