UNITED STATES (VOP TODAY NEWS) — The constant presence of people on the moon will become a reality within ten years, the head of NASA Jim Bridenstine is sure.
“I think we’re about ten years away from keeping people on the Moon constantly,” Breidenstein said in an interview with Hill on Thursday.
According to him, the United States is now building the Gateway space station, which will move to the lunar orbit.
“Think of it as a reusable manned module on which people will be in orbit of the moon. We want to go from there to the moon and back to make reusable landing gear. We can achieve this in about a decade’s time,” said Jim Bridenstine.
He assured that “the new circumlunar station will be international.” Interaction in space should not become the dependence of partners on each other, but remain cooperation, the head of NASA believes.
Later on Thursday, NASA will announce partnerships with nine US companies as part of a program to deliver commercial cargo to the lunar surface and the moon’s orbit.
