UNITED STATES (VOP TODAY NEWS) — On the occasion of the 71st anniversary of the creation of Israel (the Nakba), the organizing committee of the Marches of the Great Return called in a statement the Palestinians to go down to the streets.
And Israeli forces have planned to strengthen their presence on the borders in order to cope with Palestinian resistance groups whose ranks are growing.
The Israeli news channel, Kan reported that the Israeli army had blocked roads near the Gaza Strip from Wednesday morning. Thousands of Gazans have reached the security fence separating the Gaza Strip and occupied Palestine.
Parallel to the efforts undertaken by the organizing committee of the Great Return Marches, we could witness the sending of explosive balloons from the Gaza Strip to Israel.
The Islamic Jihad Movement of Palestine and the Islamic Resistance Movement of Palestine, Hamas, have invited the Palestinian people to enthusiastically attend this Wednesday’s march.
Every year on May 15, Palestinians commemorate the Nakba, an Arabic word meaning “great catastrophe”.
This march calls for the right of Palestinian refugees to return to their ancestral land every year. It is organized between March 30 and May 15, Nakba Day. Hundreds of thousands of Palestinians were expelled from their lands 71 years ago after the creation of Israel’s sham regime on 14 May 1948.
The Nakba remains one of the major dramas that continues to feed 71 years later the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The creation of Israel was achieved through the destruction of 531 Palestinian villages by Israeli militias.
Israeli militias perpetrated some 70 massacres in which approximately 150,000 Palestinians were killed.
