More than 3,600 cases of cholera in Yemen

UNITED STATES (VOP TODAY NEWS) — A government source in Taiz province, south-west Yemen, reported on Sunday that more than 3,600 cases of cholera have been detected in the province, and 8 deaths in the same epidemic since the beginning of 2019.

This was stated in a statement to Anatolia by telephone , Made by a source at the Public Health and Population Office in Taiz, preferring not to be named because he was not authorized to speak to the media.

The source said that the neighborhoods of the city (the center of the province), recorded the largest number of outbreaks. Pointing out that 191 cases of infection have been confirmed “laboratory”.

He pointed to the fears of the local authorities in Taiz, the growing spread of the epidemic in the absence of work to reduce the outbreak.

Cholera is a disease that causes severe diarrhea that can kill the patient within hours if he is not treated, malnourished children under the age of five are particularly at risk of infection.
