Merkel told when she quits politics

UNITED STATES, WASHINGTON (VOP TODAY NEWS) — German Chancellor Angela Merkel confirmed that after the next elections to the Bundestag, which will be held in 2021, she will no longer engage in politics.

“Of course, I will remain a political person, but I will not engage in active political activity,” she told the newspaper Die Ostsee-Zeitung.

She also said that she was not going to engage in politics at the EU level – “all posts are already distributed there.” Readers of the publication asked Merkel what she would like to read about herself after 50 years in school history textbooks. The Chancellor replied: “What did she try.”

At the end of 2018, Merkel resigned as chairman of the Christian Democratic Union, but remained chancellor.

Merkel’s health status has been raising questions recently. Since the beginning of summer, she has already had several bouts of uncontrolled trembling . At first, this was explained by dehydration, then by psychosomatics. However, there is still no information about what is happening by the chancellor.
