Iranian President Hassan Rouhani believes that mass protests that continue in the Islamic Republic since Thursday are caused by interference of other countries in the life of the country, as well as internal problems.
“The enemies of the Islamic Republic of Iran are angry with the glory, success and progress of the Iranian nation, they swore to cause problems in the country, but the people and the government of Iran will answer them,” he said.
The President also noted that the protests should be used to clarify the root problems of the country.
According to Al-Jazeera, the protests started because of the poor economic situation in the country, accompanied by the growing sanctions of the West, as well as the unpopularity of the Roukhani regime. At least 20 people were killed.
