French President Emmanuel Macron said that at the moment he does not see any progress in the negotiations on Turkey’s accession to the EU.

Macron said that the latest developments in Turkey make progress in the process of Turkey’s accession to the EU impossible.

At the same time, after meeting with Turkish President Recep Erdogan, Makron did not rule out the development of relations between the European Union and Turkey within the framework of “cooperation and partnership”, Tass reports.

Turkey officially received the status of candidate for EU membership in 1999. According to Erdogan, Ankara is tired of negotiations on joining the European Union.
