Lebanese child is killed by an Israeli war bomb

UNITED STATES, WASHINGTON (VOP TODAY NEWS) — The child Abbas Maatouq was killed while playing with a foreign object in the town of Tul in Nabatieh governorate in southern Lebanon. Another child was injured in the same explosion.

A Lebanese child was killed when a suspicious object exploded and another child was injured in the same explosion while they were playing in the town of Tul, in the southern province of Nabatieh, local media reported.

The suspicious object is likely to be a cluster bomb left over from Israel’s 2006 war on Lebanon, the local LBC channel said.

Wednesday, August 14, marks the end of Israel’s 34-day war in Lebanon in 2006.

According to a 2008 Human Rights Watch report, Israeli forces rained Lebanon with more than 4 million cluster bombs in the last three days of the 2006 war.
