The air strikes inflicted by Turkey on the positions of the Kurds in the Syrian border area of Afrin will not remain unanswered. This was stated by a spokesman for the Kurdish Self-Defense Forces (YPG) in Afrin.
According to him, Turkish military detachments tried to enter Afrin from the territory of the Bilbile district, but met resistance from the YPG.
“Bombing continues. According to our information, 56 military aircraft participate in the air strikes. Aircraft of the Turkish Air Force also hit on human settlements,” spokesman said.
As earlier reported, Turkey at 14:00 began a military operation in the Afrin region, located in the north-west of Syria. According to the statement of the Turkish General Staff, aviation struck 108 targets on the territory of the region.
According to the Afrin authorities, as a result of the air strikes of Ankara , ten civilians were injured, including two children.
The decision to conduct the operation in Africa was made by the Turkish authorities after the representative of the US-led international coalition reported on the creation of “border security forces” in Syria.
