Bass guitarist of British rock bands The Kinks and The Zombies, Jim Rodford, died at the age of 76 from injuries sustained as a result of a fall from the stairs. This was on Saturday on the page of The Zombies on Facebook written by his cousin, Rod Argent, the founder and keyboard player.

“With deep sorrow, I learned that my dear cousin, whom we were friends with throughout his life, Jim Rodford died this morning [Jan. 20] after falling down the stairs, the exact cause of death is not yet known,” he said.

Rodford played in the band The Kinks in 1978-1996, and three years later he joined the re-created by his cousin Argent rock band. In 2004, the musician again joined the ranks of The Zombies after the next revival of the band.
