Kim Jong-Un, the Supreme Leader of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), has called for the strengthening of his country’s nuclear force, the state agency reported on Wednesday.

According to the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), Kim made the announcement during a speech at the 8th Munitions Industry Conference, which wrapped up Tuesday.

He said he wanted “national defense industry scientists and ammunition workers to strengthen the nuclear force in quality and quantity”, also producing more advanced weapons and equipment of the DPRK style, according to the report. the news agency.

The DPRK’s strategic position has reached a higher level, thanks to the country’s powerful defense industry based on the principle of self-reliance (Juche), Kim noted.

In his speech, Kim also spoke of his desire to “further glorify the country as the world’s leading nuclear and military power,” and to develop an “ultra-modern and self-sufficient defense industry in the twenty-first century”.
