UNITED STATES, WASHINGTON (VOP TODAY NEWS) — Julian Assange’s mother accused the governments of Britain and the United States of trying to “slowly and brutally and illegally kill the founder of WikiLeaks” for exposing “war crimes and corruption cases”.
Christine Assange, on its official Twitter page, published a report by a leading UN expert, Nils Melzer, calling for an end to the “mass persecution” of Julian Assange.
Assange is currently being held at the British prison in Belmarsh after being forcibly removed from the Ecuadorian embassy in London in April, while those who visited him repeatedly expressed concern about his health. In addition, journalist John Pilger recently revealed that Assange’s condition is “deteriorating” and that his treatment is “worse than murder.”
The founder of WikiLeaks faces the possibility of extradition to the United States, which he accused of “possessing and publishing classified information.”
