UNITED STATES (VOP TODAY NEWS) — Former US Vice President Joseph Biden is going to participate in the presidential elections in 2020, reported on Tuesday by The Hill, referring to one of the Democratic congressmen.
According to a newspaper source, Biden, who turned 76 years old last November, told him in a telephone conversation about his intention to fight for the nomination of a candidate for the presidency of the Democratic Party. “I will try to use this chance,” the lawmaker of the former vice president quoted. The congressman, whose name the newspaper does not name, made an audio recording of the conversation with Biden and presented it to The Hill journalists.
The publication reports that during a short conversation, Biden invited the congressman to meet to discuss the campaign strategy. The former vice president also asked the legislator for support in this endeavor, but did not indicate when and where he intends to officially announce participation in the upcoming presidential race.
Earlier it was reported that Biden could start a campaign for the nomination of the Democratic Party candidate in the presidential elections in 2020 already in early April.
