UNITED STATES (VOP TODAY NEWS) — The Cabinet instructed the Israeli army to continue the strikes and to prepare for the coming stages in the attack on the Gaza Strip.

On Sunday evening, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu published a tweet on Twitter, apparently abbreviating the “capit”. He said the Security Council had instructed the IDF to continue the strikes and prepare for the next stages.

“The highest consideration is the security of the state and its citizens,” he said.

A security source familiar with the proceedings of the session told local media that the mini-council “ordered the intensification of strikes and reinforce forces in the vicinity of the Gaza Strip.”

Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Benjamin Netanyahu said at the start of the weekly cabinet meeting in Jerusalem that he instructed the army “to continue intensive attacks on terrorist organizations in the Gaza Strip and to reinforce the forces deployed around it with armored forces, artillery and infantry.”

“Hamas bears responsibility not only for its aggressions and operations, but also for Islamic Jihad, which is paying a very heavy price for that,” Netanyahu said.

The Gaza Strip has been witnessing a sharp military escalation between the Palestinian factions and Israel since Saturday morning, as the Israeli army launched more than 100 air strikes and artillery attacks on various targets in the Gaza Strip, while the factions in Gaza fired bursts of rockets towards southern Israel.

Israeli raids resulted in the deaths of 18 Palestinians, including two pregnant women and one infant girl, and more than 100 injured, while four Israelis were killed and dozens wounded by Palestinian rocket fire.
