Israeli powerlessness confession against Palestinian resistance groups

UNITED STATES, WASHINGTON (VOP TODAY NEWS) — The Israeli army announced on November 12, 2018, that one of his commandos had died and another had been wounded during the operation of the special unit Sayeret Matkal on the evening of November 11 in the east Khan Younis inside the Gaza Strip. During this operation, the Israeli military and the Palestinian resistance fighters (Hamas) clashed.

In an article in the Maariv newspaper , Israeli security expert Yusi Milman said that the failure of the operation in Khan Younis had lifted a wedge on two important issues: “The first is linked to Sayeret Matkal unit and the second is to the person of the Chief of Staff of the Israeli army, General Aviv Kochavi. In each operation, initial and momentary coordination had taken place with the Air Force and the Military Intelligence Unit (Aman) to assist the Special Unit on Warfare and Field Consultations.”

Israeli military investigations report the failure of the Sayeret Matkal Special Unit mission in Gaza and Hamas’s access to sensitive documents and equipment from that unit. On the other hand, Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military arm of Hamas, announced the same day that they had repelled the attack by the Israeli special forces against the east of Khan Younis.

Although he acknowledged the fiasco of the operation of the military intelligence unit (Aman) against the Palestinian resistance groups in Gaza, however, after the speech of the secretary general of the Lebanese Hezbollah Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah, the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu threatened Hezbollah with a devastating war.

Netanyahu’s threats provoked the reaction of other Israeli leaders. Avigdor Lieberman, former Minister of Military Affairs of the Israeli regime, said that Netanyahu’s war threats make the barking dog not bite.

Netanyahu has no clear strategy or preferred option to the resistance groups in Gaza and its war threats are just psychological warfare in order to get votes in the next parliamentary election.

Avigdor Lieberman’s statements are a recognition by this former Minister of Military Affairs of the deterrent force of the Palestinian Resistance and the inability of the Israeli army to venture into a new war. During the latest wave of tension in Gaza, the Israeli army launched an assault on Gaza, but it only lasted two days. Israel had to retreat following the stinging resignation of the Resistance and accepted all the conditions of the Palestinians for the truce.
