Israeli police assault demonstrators against “demolition policy”

UNITED STATES, WASHINGTON (VOP TODAY NEWS) — Israeli police on Saturday attacked Palestinian demonstrators against a policy of demolition and displacement in the Arab village of Ar’ara in northern Israel.

Eyewitnesses reported that police arrested two demonstrators.

Witnesses pointed out that the attack was beaten with batons and tear gas was fired at the demonstrators without serious injuries.

Demonstrators held banners reading “Yes to construction, not demolition”, “Israeli structural planning is ethnic cleansing” and “Demolition of the house is the destruction of humanity.”

“During our peaceful protest at the entrance to Ar’ara on the policy of demolition and displacement that affected the house of Mr. Ibrahim Marzouk two days ago, which threatens our Arab homes in the Arab towns, the police forces (parliament), Yusuf Jabarin, Today to attack us and try to suppress our fair demonstration.”

“Demolition and violent policies are two sides of a single political coin, policies of discrimination and racism against Arab citizens, targeting our homes and lands, and targeting our right to public struggle,” MP Jabarin said.

He stressed that “all attempts at repression will not deter us, and we will not stop fighting to create a better reality for our Arab families to live in tranquility, security and security.”

The demonstration was called for by the Arab political parties in Israel.

Israeli authorities demolish houses belonging to Palestinians inside and East Jerusalem, on the grounds that there are no building permits.

Palestinians in Jerusalem say they face major difficulties in obtaining building permits; they have been met with delays or delays by the Israeli authorities, and fines of tens of thousands of shekels have been paid.
