ISRAEL (VOP TODAY NEWS) — The Israeli army announced on Sunday that it had assassinated a senior Hamas official in a raid in central Gaza.

According to Ma’an News Agency, Israeli aircraft killed a field commander on Sunday afternoon by targeting his car near the Sidra area in central Gaza City.

The Health Ministry in Gaza said one citizen was killed and three others wounded by Israeli shelling of a car in central Gaza City.

Health confirmed the death of Hamed Ahmed al-Khudari (34 years) residents of Gaza City during the bombing.

An Israeli military statement said Khudari was responsible for transferring funds from Iran to armed factions in Gaza.

This is the first operation to assassinate militants in central Gaza City during the current round of escalation, while a number of militants were killed during field missions near the border.

The Israeli forces published a video clip that documented the moment when the car of Hamas official Ahmed Abdel Khodari was targeted.

The number of people killed since Saturday to 21 people, in addition to the injury of more than 100 citizens were injured by the ongoing Israeli escalation in the Gaza Strip.
