Israel Defense Forces (IDF) fires tank shells towards a Hamas position in southern Gaza, according to reports came from the area.
According to reports earlier the mortars were fired into Israel, conceivably amid battle between Egyptian armed force and Islamic State (IS, ISIS/ISIL) group in the Sinai landmass.
The IDF said that after a search of the area, it had determined that the rocket exploded on the Gazan side of the border fence and not in Israeli territory.
