Israel confiscates Gazan purchases via the Internet

UNITED STATES, WASHINGTON (VOP TODAY NEWS) — A newspaper report revealed that the Israeli army confiscated the postal parcels destined for the Gaza Strip, which the army claims can be used for military purposes, according to the newspaper “Yediot Ahronot” on Sunday.

According to the report, in the course of 2018, 1,600 were confiscated for alleged military use.

The confiscated packages also included remote-controlled small aircraft, divers’ supplies, and some electronic game control parts such as those used in video game consoles, personal endoscopes and laser light pens.

The report shows a wide room where Israeli soldiers open, examine and confiscate the parcel, according to a long list prepared by the army. He adds that the elements of this list increase from time to time.

According to the report, Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza during the year 2018 imported about 1.7 million postal packages, 20% of them to the Gaza Strip.
