Israeli aviation attacked the training camp and the arsenal of Palestinian militants in the Gaza Strip in response to rocket attacks from the enclave, the army’s press service said.
The exchange of blows occurred on the day of mass Palestinian protests against the US decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
“In response to the rockets launched earlier today in Israel, the air force attacked the training camp of Hamas and the weapons storage in the Gaza Strip,” the press release said.
The raid followed the launching of at least two missiles in the south of Israel, one of which was intercepted by the Iron Dome missile defense system.
The responsibility for the shelling, as a result of which no one was injured, was laid by the Israelis on the ruling Hamas movement in the enclave, from which they demand to ensure compliance with the ceasefire by all Palestinian factions.
