About 1250 casualties including tens of suicide bombers and officers during 52 days of the escalation of the military operation by regime forces in the Syrian Desert within 4 provinces, reported the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
The Islamic State organization loses about 17000 square kilometers of its controlled areas in the Syrian territory within weeks, Observatory added.
Only the sound of the guns, warplanes and the military vehicles has been heard in the Syrian Desert for weeks, and the intensity of fighting escalated, as well as massing the forces of the regime and members of the gunmen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities with the participation of Russian forces, to escalate the clashes, after the 17th of July 2017, the date of ending the presence of the “Islamic State” organization by the regime forces, in the western section of the southern countryside of Al-Raqqah till today, in which the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights observed during 52 days, starting from the date mentioned above, escalating the intensity of the clashes in the fronts and contact lines between the regime forces supported by gunmen loyal to them of Syrian, Lebanese, Iranian, Iraqi, Afghan and Palestinian nationalities as well as Russian forces on one hand, and the members of the “Islamic State” organization on the other, amid successive collapses in the ranks of the members of the organization, who were forced in several repeated circumstance, to leave hundreds of square kilometers, after the regime forces approached to besiege them there.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights observed the military operations and the advancement, withdrawal and collapse in the ranks of each party, it documented that the regime forces managed since the 17th of July 2017, to achieve advancement in about 17 thousand square kilometers extended in Deir Ezzor, Homs and Hama provinces, restoring more than 9% of the area of the Syrian territory, these military operations in which the regime forces restored this area with losing ISIS the control of it, resulted in falling a large number of casualties in the ranks of the both parties, in which the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented the death of hundreds in the ranks of each party, and the injury of hundreds others with varying degrees of severity in the clashes of hit-and-run and raids and the violent shelling accompanied by them.
And the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented increasing the number of casualties in the ranks of the both parties to 1248 casualties at least in the period from the 17th of July 2017, to the 8th September 2017, they are 812 members of the “Islamic State” organization of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities including 92 fighters at least of who blew themselves up with booby trapped vehicles and explosive belts, in addition to 436 members of the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them of Syrian, Lebanese, Iranian, Iraqi, Afghan and Palestinian nationalists, including 58 officers at least with different ranks, all of them were killed in explosions, shelling, ambushes, clashes and raids, while the number of casualties is likely to increase because of the presence of injuries in serious cases, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also obtained information that members of ISIS in the eastern countryside of Hama are keeping bodies or injuries of the Russian forces of who were killed and injured in the eastern countryside of Hama, in which the Russian forces are searching for them.
