In Iraq, Hezbollah brigades warned the United States against their activities on Iraqi soil and against the attacks of the fiefs of the fighters of Popular Mobilization Units, (Hashd al-Shaabi).
In a statement issued on Thursday, August 22, the Hezbollah Brigades announced: “After the end of the fight against the terrorist group Daesh, the United States proceeded to launch an open attack against the Hachd centers and sites. al-Shaabi”.
“We hold the United States accountable for attacks on military bases and we know they are planning to launch new ones,” the statement said.
Hezbollah brigades also reveal that the Americans recruited “local mercenaries” to spy on military bases.
Affiliated with Hashd al-Shaabi, Hezbollah’s brigades also report that “Americans and Zionists” plan to launch attacks on holy sites of Islam and political figures in Iraq.
“Any new attack on Iraqi sites will come up against a stinging and thundering riposte from Hashd al-Shaabi,” they say.
It is worth mentioning that Iraqi media and officials have also claimed that foreigners were involved in the August 20 fire at Balad Air Base in Salaheddin. In this regard, the Iraqi Ministry of Defense has announced that it will conduct thorough investigations to determine the source of the fire.
The deputy leader of Hashd al-Shaabi, Abu Mahdi al-Mohandes announced in a statement on Wednesday that the US government was responsible for incidents in recent days on Iraqi military bases.
“The Americans have introduced four Israeli drones into Iraq to attack our military bases and dominate Iraq’s airspace,” he said.
A spy drone was intercepted by the Popular Mobilization Units above the 12th Hachd al-Shaabi Brigade base near Baghdad, the Iraqi television channel Al-Sumaria News reported.
The Iraqi Resistance movement, Al-Nujaba, for its part announced on Twitter, the interception by its fighters of a drone of unknown origin.
