Iraqi forces enter Syria for joint offensive on ISIS held Albu Kamal

Iraqi forces on Wednesday enter Syria for joint offensive on Islamic State (IS, ISIS/ISIL) group held Albu Kamal the last largest terrorists stronghold in the country, reported on media.

Earlier today the Syrian army has entered Abu Kemal, the last largest Daesh stronghold in Syria, after surrounding the town, reported by al-Manar television.

The Syrian government forces have been conducting a massive operation in the Deir ez-Zor province aiming to completely wipe Daesh terrorists out as over 90 percent of the war-torn state’s territory has already been liberated, told Sputnik.

Earlier in the Syrian province of Homs, 120 militants from the settlement of Rastan and the city of Talbis laid down their arms in the framework of the program of national reconciliation, the Syrian national agency SANA reported on Wednesday.

“The affairs of 120 people from the settlement of Rastan and the city of Talbis in the north of the province (Homs) are settled,” the agency writes.
