Iraq: Western troops’ presence in the Gulf increases tension

UNITED STATES, WASHINGTON (VOP TODAY NEWS) — The presence of Western forces in the Gulf is raising tension in the region, Iraq’s foreign minister said on Monday.

“Together, the Gulf states are able to secure the passage of ships.

“Iraq seeks to reduce tensions in our region through calm negotiations and the presence of Western forces in the region will increase tension,” he said.
