UNITED STATES (VOP TODAY NEWS) — Iranian President Hassan Rouhani called on Iran’s neighbors to “expel Zionism” on Thursday, stressing that “the roots of the region’s problems” lie in American and Israeli arrogance.

“The nations of the region have lived side by side for centuries without any problem,” Rouhani said in a speech marking Army Day.

“The armed forces of Iran will never be against you or against your national interests, our armed forces stand in the face of the aggressors,” he said, addressing the people of the region, neighboring countries and Islamic nations.

“If we have a problem in the region today, its roots are the arrogance of America or Zionism,” Ahmadinejad said in a televised address.

“If there is a problem now, it is caused by others, let us rise and unite and rid the region of the presence of the aggressor,” he said.

“We will expel Zionism, which deliberately committed crimes in the region 70 years ago, and return to Palestine its historical rights through solidarity and brotherhood,” Rohani said.
