The leader of any one country can not independently annul an important international deal, which is supported by the U.N., Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said, commenting on the speech of Donald Trump.

“This is an international multilateral deal that has been ratified by the UN Security Council, it is a UN document.” Is it possible for one president to unilaterally cancel this important international deal? “Apparently, he is not aware of the cases,” Rouhani said, which was broadcast by Press TV .

He stressed that Iran would give an answer if its national interests suffered.

On Friday, Trump, in an address to the nation, said that he refuses to confirm to the congress that Iran is in compliance with the agreement on the nuclear program. At the same time, at the international level, he did not challenge the compliance of Tehran with the agreements. Trump said that the White House will work with the congress on “serious shortcomings” of the deal with Iran, and promised that the US will impose new sanctions against Iran for “supporting terrorism.”

On July 14, 2015, Iran and the six international mediators (Russia, the United States, Britain, China, France and Germany) reached an historic agreement on the settlement of the Iranian nuclear issue. A joint comprehensive plan of action was adopted, the implementation of which removes economic and financial sanctions from Iran.

The European Union said that the world community does not intend to revise this agreement. The head of EU diplomacy, Federica Mogherini, said that Iran did not allow any violation of the agreement on the nuclear program. She also noted that the United States can not withdraw from the agreement unilaterally.

The fact that the Iranian authorities fulfill all the obligations to reduce the nuclear program, confirmed in the IAEA.

Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov, commenting on the new US strategy on Iran, said that the expression “Friday the 13th” will now evoke political associations.
