Iran called on the US to withdraw troops from Syria

The military presence of the United States on Syrian territory “is illegal, and it needs to end.” With this statement made on Tuesday in an interview with the television channel Al Mayadeen Secretary of the Supreme Council of National Security of the Islamic Republic of Admiral Ali Shamkhani.

According to him, “unlike Iranian and Russian servicemen who are in Syria at the request of a legitimate government, the US has not agreed with Damascus to send its soldiers there.”

The Admiral regarded the presence of US troops as an occupation, saying that “Iran will support Syria, seeking the withdrawal of American troops from the country.” At the same time, Shamkhani pointed out that the Iranians “do not wage wars against the US on Syrian soil.”

“The American occupation forces must leave Syria, they can not stay there for a long time,” he said, “we will demand this from all international tribunes and condemn the occupation.”
