The insurgents of the Ansarullah movement seized the building of the Yemen El-Yevm television channel, owned by ex-president Ali Abdullah Saleh, and took hostages of the TV station employees.
As a result of the firefight with the protection, the Houthis managed to break into the building of the TV channel, said Yemen El-Yevm.
According to him, the rebels took some of the employees of the TV channel as hostages, there were no dead people.
Yemen’s website El-Yevm reports that the channel’s broadcast has been suspended.
Husits also took control of the Internet provider Yemen.Net and restricted access to news portals owned by ex-president Ali Abdullah Salih.
On the eve of Salih made a statement on the Yemen El-Yevm television channel, in which he called on the people and armed forces of Yemen to rebuff the hussites. In his opinion, this is necessary from the standpoint of protecting the statehood, unity and sovereignty of Yemen.
