UNITED STATES (VOP TODAY NEWS) — Consumer price growth in Germany in February in annual terms, according to the final estimate of the country’s Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), was 1.5%.
As noted in the press release of the ministry, inflation was recorded at 0.4% in monthly terms.
Analysts polled by Reuters predicted that annual inflation was 1.6%, and on a monthly basis – 0.5%.
Inflation in Germany, calculated according to EU standards (harmonized consumer price index – HCPI), according to the final estimate, in February in annual terms amounted to 1.7%, in monthly terms – 0.5%. Both indicators coincided with expert forecasts and preliminary estimates.
Energy prices in Germany rose by 2.9% in February compared with the same period of the previous year, while food prices, as well as prices for services, showed an increase of 1.4% during the reporting period.
