UNITED STATES (VOP TODAY NEWS) — Chinese giant Huawei said it could launch its own operating system, available next autumn in China and early 2020 in Europe, but only if the company was prevented from using Android and Windows 10, according to CNBC.
Richard Yu, the boss of the mobile division of the Chinese group Huawei , said he could put into operation his own operating system.
“We do not want it, but we will have to because of the US government’s measures,” he told CNBC.
The system is expected to be ready by the fourth quarter of this year for the Chinese market, while a version for foreign markets would be available in the first half of 2020.
Richard Yu, however, pointed out that this OS would only be launched if the company was prevented from using Android and Windows 10.
“Today, at Huawei, we are still committed to Microsoft Windows and Google Android. But if we can not use these, Huawei will prepare a plan B to use our own operating system, “said Richard Yu, quoted by CNBC.
Donald Trump signed a decree on May 15 forbidding US companies to use telecommunication equipment manufactured by companies posing a risk to national security , which is to prohibit US groups from doing business with Huawei.
