Hamas accuses Israel of blowing up a car bomb targeting one of its leaders in Sidon

The Palestinian Hamas movement accused Israel of being behind a car bomb attack on one of its leaders, Mohammed Hamdan, Abu Hamza, in Sidon, south Lebanon, on Sunday.

“We, as a resistance movement, consider the occupation to be a permanent target for us and for our cadres both in Lebanon and at home,” said Ayman Shanaa, a Hamas official in Sidon.

However, Shana added: “But we do not want to confuse things and leave them to the Lebanese security services and the judiciary to reveal the details of the explosion that happened.”

Shana’a confirmed that Mohammed Hamdan, “Abu Hamza”, is one of the organizational cadres of “Hamas” in the area of ​​Sidon, was slightly injured by the explosion of his car today and is undergoing treatment.

Medical sources reported that the patient was in stable condition and underwent surgery on his foot.

Security sources estimated the weight of the bomb planted in Mohammed Hamdan’s car with 500 grams of explosives.

Earlier, the Lebanese army announced the injury of Mohammed Hamdan, the owner of the car that exploded in Sidon was injured while opening the door.

“Abu Hamza” was interested in the car when it went off, and caught fire, causing a slight injury to his foot, and was rushed to the hospital.

The security forces cordoned off the place, and attended the fire teams of the municipality of Sidon and ambulances, as the forces began their investigations to find out the circumstances and the background of the explosion, which caused panic among the people of the city and its camps.

Television footage from Sidon showed a column of thick smoke rising in the sky.
