Hamas: a delegation from the UN to visit Gaza to discuss the lifting of the siege

UNITED STATES (VOP TODAY NEWS) — Hamas movement announced on Saturday that Qatari and UN delegations will visit the Gaza Strip in the coming days to follow up the implementation of the terms of the truce between the Palestinian factions and Israel.

“The coming days will witness the visit of delegations from Qatar and other United Nations, to follow up the implementation of the terms of understandings of the truce and lift the siege on the Gaza Strip,” said the spokesman of the movement, Abdul Latif al-Qanoua, told the agency “Anatolia”.

He explained that the Qatari and international delegations will follow up the file of the extension of a new line of electricity from Israel, feeding the Gaza Strip and the name “161”, the file of building a hospital in the northern Gaza Strip, and address the water problems, a delegation from the Palestinian Energy Authority met in mid-June, with A Qatari technical delegation visited Gaza to study the executive plan to inaugurate the new electricity line.

In the same context, a Hamas spokesman said that the delegation of the Egyptian General Intelligence Service, which visited the Gaza Strip, conveyed Israel’s assertion that it would abide by the terms of the understandings of the truce.

He pointed out that the leadership of the movement provided a full explanation to the Egyptian delegation about Israel’s slow implementation of the terms of understandings, indicating that “Hamas” confirmed to the Egyptian side on the need to abide by the Israeli government to implement the full terms of agreed understandings.

It is worth mentioning that the Palestinian factions reached understandings with Israel at the end of 2018, mediated by Egypt, Qatar and the United Nations, to ease the siege on Gaza in return for stopping the Palestinian protests near the border fence, but Israel, according to the Palestinians, did not comply with the terms of the truce.
