UNITED STATES, WASHINGTON (VOP TODAY NEWS) — US Internet sites have confirmed that hackers have been able to penetrate data from Capital One, one of the largest and most important banks in the United States.
According to available information, hackers have access to the banking data of about 100 million customers living in the United States, 6 million from Canada, and bank card data issued between 2005 and 2019.
These include customer names, bank card codes, phone numbers, e-mail addresses, dates of birth, income information, and data regarding their bank deposits and the funds they hold in the bank.
Experts note that about 140,000 of the bank’s social security numbers are likely to have been leaked to hackers. Hackers also received information about the banking operations of some Capital One clients, which took place on 23 days in 2016, 2017 and 2018.
Some media reported that the US police recently arrested a programmer called Paige Thompson, believed to be linked to these attacks, and investigate with them about the circumstances of this incident.
