Google and Facebook have access to the history of sites visited, even in “incognito” mode

UNITED STATES, WASHINGTON (VOP TODAY NEWS) — As a recent Microsoft study indicates, Google and Facebook track the history of their users’ visits to a preponderant majority of pornographic sites using trackers.

It is impossible to escape this monitoring even using the private browsing mode.

Google and Facebook are monitoring their users visiting pornographic sites even when private browsing mode is turned on, according to a study by Microsoft in partnership with Carnegie Mellon and Pennsylvania Universities.

In order to carry it out, the experts analyzed about 22,500 sites for adults. It appeared that 93% of them have trackers that communicate the data of their users to third parties.

Among the 230 companies and services that track users, are Google (its trackers are on 74% of sites for adults) and Facebook (10%).

Thus, according to the study, although Google does not allow pornographic content, the policy of the company in question has no limits in terms of access to the consumption of adult content of Internet users.

Facebook and Google, however, have stated that they do not use the information collected during their users ‘ visits to pornographic sites to create marketing profiles.

“We do not allow Google advertising on websites with adult content and we do not allow personalized advertising and advertising profiles based on the user’s sexual interests or associated online activities.

In addition, the tags of our advertising services are never allowed to transmit personally identifiable information to Google, “a Google representative told Business Insider.

A spokesman for Facebook echoed the statement to the Times saying the company had banned adult websites from using social network tracing tools for commercial purposes, such as advertising.
