German official: increasing tendencies of violence among the extreme right

UNITED STATES, WASHINGTON (VOP TODAY NEWS) — The head of Germany’s Federal Crime Prevention Agency, Holger Munch, has warned of an increase in violence among the country’s far right in recent years.

“Right-wing extremists are committing crimes against those who support diversity in the country and support refugees, not just foreigners and political opponents,” Munch said.

He added that “tendencies of violence have risen in the environment of the extreme right in recent years,” warning of the possibility of the bloc of the extreme right and the formation of influence in society.

He pointed to the possibility of the formation of extremist right-wing terrorist entities, saying: “We see the risk of the possibility of establishing entities may amount to the formation of terrorist groups.”

Munch also warned that the dangers posed by hate messages over the Internet were “very high.”
