UNITED STATES, WASHINGTON (VOP TODAY NEWS) — German Minister of Economy and Energy Peter Altmayer said that his country is determined to intensify bilateral relations with Turkey and to form new driving forces for economic growth.
This came in a speech delivered Thursday, during the opening of the German-Turkish Artificial Intelligence Conference, in the capital Berlin, with the participation of Turkish Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Warank.
“Altmair” was pleased to host the conference, which addresses an important issue and witnessed a very high participation.
He pointed out that the friendship between Turkey and Germany is one of the most important issues he cares about as it goes back more than 100 years.
The German minister said that he discussed with the Turkish delegation cooperation between the two countries in the field of industry.
“We know that Turkey is facing economic challenges in recent months. In Germany, the problem of slowing growth has emerged.”
He stressed that economic growth in Germany has been rapid over the past years, but today is suffering from a problem in this regard.
“We are already determined to intensify bilateral relations and to form new driving forces for economic growth,” he said.
Altmayer said that on November 6, Berlin will host a session of the Turkish-German Economic Commission, which was revived during a recent visit to Turkey.
He stressed that Turkey and Germany are industrial countries, and are determined to stay as well, pointing out that the friendship between the two countries benefit millions of people.
“We are now important trading partners,” he said.
