UNITED STATES (VOP TODAY NEWS) — According to the forecast of the European Parliament, the pro-European parties are leading in the elections to the EU legislative body, receiving 493 seats out of 751.

The elections to the European Parliament are held from May 23 to 26 in all EU countries.

As suggested in the EP, the European People’s Party will receive 173 seats in parliament. The Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats will get 147 seats, the movement of French President Emmanuel Macron in alliance with the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe – 102, and Green – 71.

Despite the upcoming Brexit, the UK is also participating in the elections. On the eve of the vote, Eurosceptics claiming leadership in the EU suffered a blow to their reputation in connection with the scandals surrounding the ultra-right Freedom Party in Austria and the British Brexit Party, led by the country’s exit ideologist Nigel Farage.
