FBI hacks computers in Russia, China in search of child pornography, reports

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) of the United States, within the framework of Operation Pacifier “The Pacifier” in search of distributors of child pornography, hacked computers in several countries, including Russia, Iran and China, Daily Beast reports.

The publication cites the materials of the court, published in the framework of the investigation of 2015, on the operation.

The purpose of the operation was to search for criminals operating in the Darknet. The materials say that the FBI did not know which country to search for, and hacked the computer blindly. In total, employees hacked more than 8,000 computers in 120 countries.

Previously, the US media reported that the Russian authorities turned Kaspersky Lab’s anti-virus software into a tool for espionage.
