Syrian Deputy Foreign Minister Faisal al-Miqdad received on Wednesday an Iranian parliamentary delegation headed by Ahmed Salek, vice-president of the Syrian-Iranian Parliamentary Friendship Association, and reviewed the latest achievements of the Syrian army with the help of allies.
Resistance in the region and prove the failure of the enemies of the Islamic and Arab nations in achieving their goals on the Syrian territory, according to Syrian official media.
“The failure of enemy projects in Syria led them to transfer the battle to the Islamic Republic of Iran and to support the riots on their soil,” the official SANA news agency quoted Miqdad as saying.
He also praised the policies pursued by Iran in order to preserve its security, sovereignty and confidence in the ability of the Iranian leadership and its people to thwart the American Zionist conspiracy and to follow up the prominent Iranian role in supporting the just causes of the peoples.
He stressed the solidarity of the Syrian people and their leadership with the people and government of Iran and the continued steadfastness in the face of terrorism and Syria’s condemnation of the riots behind the United States and Israel and their tools in the region.
Salik expressed his pleasure at visiting Syria at the head of a delegation of the Parliamentary Friendship Association to congratulate the joint victories against the extremist organization and stressing the unity and solidarity of the two countries in the face of the Israeli entity in the region.
The US intervention in the region contravenes the Charter of the United Nations and international laws and is a catalyst for movements of extremism and destabilization of security and stability in the region.
Iran has been in protests across the country since Thursday against corruption and the deteriorating economic situation in the country, and later moved to other Iranian cities, and raised slogans calling for the overthrow of the Islamic regime in the country and the guide Ali Khamenei and led to the detention of hundreds of participants.
Iran is one of the main supporters of the Syrian government militarily, as well as providing economic and political support to them, while facing charges from the Syrian opposition and Arab and Western countries to fuel the conflict in Syria through the support of Syria militarily.
