European Union intends to offer the UK a long postponement Brexit

UNITED STATES (VOP TODAY NEWS) — The European Union intends to offer the head of the British Cabinet, Teresa May, a longer postponement of the date of the country’s withdrawal from the EU under London’s strict conditions, including the holding of elections to the European Parliament in May, The Financial Times reported.

According to the publication, Brussels is considering several options that envisage postponing the UK exit from the EU to January or April 2020.

“If we move to the scenario (Brexit) without a deal, then we could offer an extension of one year,” the edition says. one of the high-ranking European officials.

Theresa May earlier announced the need for a new short delay in the date of the country’s withdrawal from the EU, calling the Brexit scenario with the deal “the best solution”.

The British Prime Minister noted that to resolve the political crisis, in which the country was due to the inability of supporters of different approaches to Brexit to come to a common denominator, coordinated steps are required on the part of all parties.

The House of Commons of the British Parliament once again voted against the draft agreement on the country’s withdrawal from the European Union, agreed between Prime Minister Teresa May and the EU authorities.

344 deputies voted against the draft agreement, 286 parliamentarians supported the document. The March 29, 2019 vote was the third defeat of Theresa May’s Cabinet in an attempt to get approval for this draft agreement by the House of Commons.

Thus, the British Parliament did not fulfill the condition of the EU, which agreed to postpone Brexit until May 22 if the House of Commons approved the deal last week.

Now, in accordance with the same EU plan, London should withdraw from the EU by April 12 without a deal, if it does not present an alternative implementation option for Brexit to Brussels.
