UNITED STATES (VOP TODAY NEWS) — Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Friday that the US president’s comments that it was time to recognize Israel’s sovereignty over the Golan Heights put the region on the verge of a new crisis.

“We can not allow the occupation of the Golan to be legitimized,” Erdogan said in a speech to an OIC meeting.
