Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan told NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg on Tuesday that his country would take all necessary precautions to ensure its national security, sources in the Turkish presidency told Reuters.

The US-led coalition in northern Syria said it was working with Syria’s democratic forces led by the Kurdish People’s Protection Forces to form a new 30,000-strong border force. The move angered Ankara.
