Director of the US National Security Agency plans to leave

US National Security Agency director Michael Rogers has unveiled plans for retirement in the spring of 2018. The Senate is expected to approve the new candidate, to be chosen by President Donald Trump.

Rogers, who heads one of the most secret intelligence agencies in the United States, told his staff of the decision, the Washington Post reported on its Twitter account.

The National Security Agency (NSA) is a US government intelligence agency responsible for monitoring, collecting and processing information and data for intelligence purposes.

The Agency is responsible for protecting United States Government communications and information systems against hacking and network warfare.
