Death toll from landslides, floods caused by torrential rain in Vietnam rises to 75

The number of people killed in landslides and floods caused by torrential rain in Vietnam’s northern and central regions since early last week has risen to 75.

The landslides and floods have also left 28 people missing, and 38 others injured, reported Xinhua news agency citing the Vietnam’s Central Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control as saying on Tuesday.

The 75 victims included 24 people in northern Hoa Binh province, 17 in northern Yen Bai province, 16 in central Thanh Hoa province, nine in central Nghe An province, six in northern Son La province, two in Hanoi capital, and one in central Quang Tri province.
